Busy End Of Year For WILSAR

The last day of 2011 proved to be a busy one, with three callouts in the early hours of this morning! The team has been called out 60 times this year, to assist Wiltshire Police and other surrounding ALSAR teams.

Put on standby by Wiltshire Police for a missing 96 year old male in Savernake Forest. Located prior to team deployment.

16th December – Callout – Chippenham

Callout in Chippenham area for a 64 year old male. Located within 3 hours by one of our teams who gave emergency first aid, prior to transfer to hospital.

Team Receive Road Search Training

Yesterday evening, 32 WILSAR members received specialist public highway search training, supported by Wiltshire Police’s Health & Safety Advisor. With the majority of searches being carried out during the hours of darkness at this time of year, this important training involved the use of coloured torches and additional hi-viz clothing. Our thanks to Sarah at Wiltshire Police for her support.
