Called at 2015 hours to assist Wiltshire Police with the search for a despondent 41 year old male in the Longleat area, near Warminster. Male located safe and well by police dog and handler. 12 members of WILSAR en route when the team were stood down at 2055 hours.
On Saturday 10th August, 13 members volunteered to control car parking at the annual Seend Village Fete and to display our control van. WILSAR has been seen in and around Seend, both training and working, so this was a great opportunity to show the community who we are and what we do.
What we didn’t expect though was being ‘dragged’ (or roped!) into competing in the Tug of War. We saw off the team from The Brewery Inn to finish runners up to the Seend Community Centre team. If only we’d had our boots on!? It was a successful day at the end of which we’d raised £160 and a trophy (which we had to give back!)
