2013-11 Callout Swindon

Thursday 11th April 2013.

Called at 1030 hours to assist Wiltshire Police with the search for a 70 year old despondent male in the Swindon area. Male had been missing for two days. Misper located in an area of Swindon by the Western Counties Police Helicopter who tasked police officers, WILSAR and Oxfordshire Search and Rescue (OXSAR) search and rescue teams to the area. Male located using helicopter’s Nightsun®, treated for hypothermia and then transferred to hospital. 16 members of WILSAR and eight members of OXSAR attended. Teams stood down at 2225 hours.

Saturday 6th April 2013.

Called at 2055 hours to assist Wiltshire Police with the search for a missing 80 year old diabetic male in the Swindon area. Male not seen since going for a walk during the afternoon. Male arrived home under own steam at 2105 hours safe and well. Team stood down before being deployed.

Monday 18th March 2013.

Called at 1700 hours to assist Wiltshire Police in the search for a despondent 55 year old male with medical condition in the Swindon area. Male located by an off-duty paramedic on a train heading to Reading and taken to hospital. 17 team members en route when the team were stood down at 1730 hours.

Friday 15th March 2013.

Called at 2135 hours to assist Wiltshire Police in the search for a missing 87 year old male last seen at 1100 hours in the Salisbury area. WILSAR stood down before being deployed as misper returned home at 2140 hours safe and well.

Tuesday 12th March 2013.

Called at 1915 hours to assist Wiltshire Police with the search for a despondent 51 year old female in the Swindon area. Misper located safe and well by police in the Wroughton area. WILSAR stood down at 2245 hours with 20 members completing 70 hours of search.

2013-06 Callout Assist Hampshire Frogham (Continued)

Wednesday 27th February 2013. Continuation of Hampsire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR) assist in the Frogham area of the New Forest National Park, Hampshire. Three members of WILSAR assisted together with other ALSAR teams and members of the public. Misper located deceased. Teams stood down at approx 1600 hours. WILSAR completed 18 hours of search.

2013-05 Callout Assist Hampshire Frogham

Tuesday 26th February 2013. Called out at 1325 hours to assist Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR) with the search for a despondent male 17 years of age in the Frogham area of the New Forest National Park, Hampshire. Two members of WILSAR available along with approx 16 members of HANTSAR and HANTSAR dog teams. Search suspended at 1730 hours due to fading light.

Sunday 24th February 2013.

Called out at 0130 hours to assist Wiltshire Police with the search for a despondent 30 year old male in the Salisbury area. Male located safe and well near home address at 0425 hours by WILSAR team. Ten members of WILSAR attended with assistance from Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR) dog team. Ten person-hours of search completed.

2013-03 Callout Devizes

Called out at 0955 hours to assist Wiltshire Police with the search for a missing 57 year old female in the Devizes area. Female missing since yesterday evening was located safe and well through police inquiries. Nine members of WILSAR en route when team stood down at 1015 hours.

Friday 11th January 2013.

Called at 1950 hours to assist Wiltshire Police with the search for a missing 23 year old female in the Devizes area. Female located safe and well between Potterne and West Lavington by a member of the public at 2100 hours. 20 WILSAR members attended supported by Oxfordshire Search and Rescue (OXSAR), who were on route to assist. 20 person-hours of search completed.
