Honda donation “Generates” new kit for WILSAR!

Every three months, Honda of the UK Manufacturing Ltd (HUM) in Swindon holds an internal charity poll. The employees suggest the charities and from these suggestions, three are chosen for the poll.  Employees will then  vote for their favourite.

Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR) were put forward by an employee and voted for as a deserving cause. Also voted for this time was the very worthy Parkinson’s UK charity. Several of our current and former volunteers have been employed at the Honda plant, so this only strengthens WILSAR’s bond with the company.EU20i

The donation of £500 couldn’t have come at a better time for WILSAR as we were about to replace an unserviceable generator (with a Honda one obviously!) Honda’s EU series of generators are very quiet running which is important for when we set up RV in residential areas, especially at unsociable hours! The generator will be used to charge our batteries for lighting and radios and to power the  search planning equipment in our control van.

WILSAR receives no statutory funding and rely entirely on public donation and Team fundraising so we are ever so grateful to Honda for their kind donation.
