2017-09 Standby Warminster

Sunday 19th February 2017

Team place on standby at 17:35 by Wiltshire Police to search for a missing 14yr old in the Warminster area.

Standby cancelled at 18:15 as Police located the boy safely.

2017-07 Standby Swindon

Thursday 26th January 2017

Team placed on Standby at 21:00 by Wiltshire Police for a possible missing person search in Swindon.

Team weren’t deployed and Standby cancelled at 22:40 pending further Police enquiries.

2017-05 Standby Amesbury

Sunday 22 January 2017

Placed on standby by Wiltshire Police at 01:55 to search for a suicidal male in the Amesbury/Salisbury area.

Stand down ordered at 03:00 as young man was located by Police.

2017-03 Standby Lacock

Sunday 15th January 2017

Team place on standby at 20:10 to assist Wiltshire Police with a missing female with mental health problems in the Lacock area.

Search Manager was deployed to the scene to liase with Police. Missing lady was located by police shortly after and standby cancelled at 21:15.

2016-46 Water Team standby to assist HANTSAR

Friday 2nd December 2016

Water Team put on standby at 21:30 to assist Hampshire Search and Rescue with an ongoing callout. Team not required nor deployed and stood down at 09:50 the following day.

2016-41 Standby Chippenham

Sunday 6th November 2016

Team placed on standby by Wiltshire Police at 12:15 for a possible missing male in the Kington Langley area of Chippenham.

Team standby cancelled at 13:05 as the man was safely located by Police.

2015-24 Flood Team Standby

Friday 12th June 2015

Flood Team put on standby to assist OXSAR who were also on standby to support Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue. Potential flooding was predicted over the weekend due to forecasts of heavy rainfall in Oxfordshire.

Team stood down on Sunday 14th with no flood occurrence.

Over a dozen of WILSAR’s already busy volunteers have carried out extra training to become Level 2 Flood Responders. Extra training throughout the year keeps their authorisation current and their skills honed. The Flood Team are on call 24/7, in addition to their normal WILSAR duties and can be called upon to assist anywhere nationally, representing WILSAR in the event of flooding.

2014-36 Callout Standby Tidworth

Tuesday 4th November 2014. Called by Wiltshire Police to assist with the search for despondent male from out of county in the Tidworth area. Male located prior to team callout.

2013-34 Callout Assist Standby Berkshire Newbury

Tuesday 22nd October 2013. Called at 10:42 hours and placed on standby to assist Berkshire Search and Rescue (BSAR) in the search for a 54 year old despondent male in the Newbury area. Three members of WILSAR available to assist when the team was stood down at 11:00 hours. The male had been located by the Police safe and well.

2013-01 Callout Standby Trowbridge

Thursday 10th January 2013.

Placed on standby at 1315 hours to assist Wiltshire Police and Avon and Somerset Police with the search for a 64 year old despondent male from the Trowbridge area. Male located deceased in woods at Newton St Loe near Bath by police at approximately 2100 hours.
