2016-19 Callout Swindon

Tuesday 28th June 2016

Called out at 20:10 to search for an elderly man with dementia in Central Swindon.

Male located safe and well. Team stood down at 00:50.

2016-14 Callout Limpley Stoke

Wednesday 4th May 2016

Called out at 22:30 by Wiltshire Police to search for an elderly woman with dementia in the vicinity of Limpley Stoke near Bath.

Team stood down at 23:30 as missing lady returned home.

2016-13 Callout Biddestone

Wednesday 4th May 2016

Called out by Wiltshire Police at 12:30 to search for a driver involved in a motor accident, presumed injured.

Team stood down at 13:45 as driver was located at their home by police.

2016-12 Callout Swindon

Monday 2nd May 2016

Called out at 12:30 by Wiltshire Police to search for an elderly Swindon man with dementia.

Missing man was located and Team stood down at 14:30.

2016-11 Callout Salisbury

Wednesday 27th April 2016

Called out at 20:00 to search for a vulnerable missing man near Salisbury District Hospital.

Team stood down at 21:00 as missing man was located.

2016-10 Callout Swindon

Wednesday 13th April 2016

Team called out by Wiltshire Police at 23:00 to search for a missing vulnerable female in West Swindon.

Search suspended and Team stood down at 05:45.

*UPDATE* Missing lady was subsequently found safe and well by Police officers on Thursday 14th following a reported sighting by a member of public.

2016-09 Callout Shrivenham

Sunday 10th April 2016

Called out by Wiltshire Police at 19:00 to search for a missing Swindon couple and child in the Shrivenham Area.

Family found safe and well by WILSAR Team and stood down at 21:00.

2016-08 Callout Salisbury continued

Monday 4th April 2016

Team put on standby at 10:30 to continue previous day’s search for missing male in Salisbury.

Search resumed at 12:00 and Team stood down at 13:00 as male was located by Police.

2016-07 Callout Salisbury

Sunday 3rd April 2016

Called out at 20:15 to assist Wiltshire Police in the search for a despondent male in Salisbury.

Search suspended at 02:50 pending further police enquiries.

Exercise Ironman – Sunday 6th March 2016

Wiltshire Search and Rescue are proud to announce Exercise Ironman.

Months of planning have gone into organising this multi agency, high risk missing person search scenario. Its purpose is to ensure in the event of a large missing person search in Wiltshire, the organisations involved can coordinate with each other in a rapidly changing situation. The exercise will also increase each organisation’s knowledge & understanding of one another’s capabilities.

Who’s coming?
WILSAR (approx 30 members)
Fire & Rescue Service – attending with Technical Rescue team and vehicles from multiple stations.
Ambulance Service – specialist vehicle from Bristol.
Wiltshire Police
Local Authority- Incident Officers attending.
Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue (BLSAR)
Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR)
Surrey Search and Rescue (SURSAR) – attending with a 4×4 and RPAS air support.
Dorset Search and Rescue (DORSAR) – Sending an Observer.

The exercise will start at 09:00 in South Swindon beginning with Police Enquiries and WILSAR being requested approximately 30 minutes later. It is expected to be finished by 14:00 (depending on how quickly the missing person is located!)

 

Ex Ironman
