Tasked by Wiltshire Police at 1610 to search for a vulnerable missing female in the Corsham area.
The MisPer was safely located as the team was being deployed. Team stood down at 1635.
This weekend Wiltshire Search and Rescue took part in joint training with Wiltshire Air Ambulance. The two charities are based alongside each other in Devizes and have had a good working relationship over a number of years.
The training scenario gave an opportunity to practice working together to extract a casualty, using WILSAR’s specialist stretcher and packaging equipment. It also gave Critical Care Paramedic, Matt a chance to demonstrate some of the features of the new helicopter and to train our volunteers how to safely approach and operate around the aircraft. Many thanks to the very busy Air Ambulance team for finding the time in between call-outs!”

Tasked by Wiltshire Police at 1925 to search for a vulnerable missing female in the Malmesbury area.
The MisPer was safely located prior to the team deploying resources. Team stood down at 1935.
Volunteers from WILSAR had an excellent day at the Downton Cuckoo Fair in Southernmost Wiltshire yesterday with thousands of people in attendance. We displayed our control van and equipment and engaged with members of the public receiving a lot of interest in the Team and a number of names of those interested in joining us.
Toward the end of the day we joined in a search with the police for a missing child who was found safe walking toward home.
A couple of our volunteers having got into the spirit of the fair may have received some unusual looks, searching with faces painted as a dalmatian and a pirate!?
WILSAR have just received a donation of £75 raised from a Bake Sale held in Westbury’s White Horse Health Centre last Friday. WILSAR chair, Gail Leaman, attended the sale with other team members to say thanks on behalf of the team and to sample the goods!
The sale was organised by Westbury residents Christina Jones and Hayley wheeler who volunteered with others to search alongside WILSAR teams during a three day operation for a missing local man. The idea was conceived after a local resident baked cakes for the WILSAR volunteers on day 3 of the search which were very well received!
Big thanks to all who baked and those who ate!
