The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is an annual award made to recognise and reward excellence in voluntary activities carried out by groups in the community. It is given for outstanding achievement by groups of volunteers who regularly devote their time to helping others in the community, improving the quality of life and opportunity for others and providing an outstanding service.

During a routine training exercise yesterday, one of our teams provided assistance to an injured mountain biker, who had been thrown over his handlebars. He was given emergency first aid and stabilized, prior to the arrival and handover to the Ambulance Service.
WILSAR’s John & Vicki I’Anson have been presented with a cheque to the value of £836.00, on behalf of the Pewsey Carnival Committee. This is in response to the team’s annual attendance at their recent Carnival providing car park and other marshalling duties. We would like to thank them for their continued support!

John I’Anson, WILSAR’s Secretary collected a cheque to the value of £278.00 from AFL Telecommunications Europe Limited in Swindon yesterday. This was generously donated from the proceeds of their Christmas raffle. A big thank you from all at WILSAR!
