Called out at 22:30 by Wiltshire Police to search for an elderly woman with dementia in the vicinity of Limpley Stoke near Bath.

Team stood down at 23:30 as missing lady returned home.

2016-13 Callout Biddestone

Wednesday 4th May 2016

Called out by Wiltshire Police at 12:30 to search for a driver involved in a motor accident, presumed injured.

Team stood down at 13:45 as driver was located at their home by police.

2016-12 Callout Swindon

Monday 2nd May 2016

Called out at 12:30 by Wiltshire Police to search for an elderly Swindon man with dementia.

Missing man was located and Team stood down at 14:30.

2016-11 Callout Salisbury

Wednesday 27th April 2016

Called out at 20:00 to search for a vulnerable missing man near Salisbury District Hospital.

Team stood down at 21:00 as missing man was located.

2016-10 Callout Swindon

Wednesday 13th April 2016

Team called out by Wiltshire Police at 23:00 to search for a missing vulnerable female in West Swindon.

Search suspended and Team stood down at 05:45.

*UPDATE* Missing lady was subsequently found safe and well by Police officers on Thursday 14th following a reported sighting by a member of public.

2016-09 Callout Shrivenham

Sunday 10th April 2016

Called out by Wiltshire Police at 19:00 to search for a missing Swindon couple and child in the Shrivenham Area.

Family found safe and well by WILSAR Team and stood down at 21:00.

2016-08 Callout Salisbury continued

Monday 4th April 2016

Team put on standby at 10:30 to continue previous day’s search for missing male in Salisbury.

Search resumed at 12:00 and Team stood down at 13:00 as male was located by Police.

2016-07 Callout Salisbury

Sunday 3rd April 2016

Called out at 20:15 to assist Wiltshire Police in the search for a despondent male in Salisbury.

Search suspended at 02:50 pending further police enquiries.

New Management Committee elected at AGM

Last night, Wednesday 23 March 2016, Wiltshire Search and Rescue held its Annual General Meeting at Wiltshire Police Headquarters in Devizes. The new Management Committee were elected and voted in, most notably our new Chairman, Paul Moore, who replaces Gail Leaman after three and a half years of servivce in the post.

“I have been working with WILSAR since the start of 2016 and have been really taken by the professionalism of the team. I currently work as a civil servant and decided to join WILSAR to learn a new set of skills to help save lives in the local community. I have been a fan of the great outdoors for many years and Search and Rescue work is another great excuse to get out and enjoy the Wiltshire countryside.

“I have a strong work ethic of being fair, impartial and objective, even when the circumstances are stressful and difficult. I am prepared to go above and beyond what is expected of me to ensure that WILSAR delivers its mission, to save lives. I share the enthusiasm of the rest of the Management Committee to continue moving WILSAR forward in the right direction, building on its success to date and increasing our capabilities and response to incidents.”
