WILSAR Flood Response Team Training

6 April 2014  |  News  |  ,

6th April 2014. Our Flood Response Team had a great day training in the River Avon at Figheldean today. We also had three Wiltshire Police POLSAs in attendance to demonstrate our capabilities to them.

Our volunteers rehearsed defensive swimming, aggressive swimming, negotiating strainers, entrapment rescue, basic rope-work, wading techniques and water search. This doubled as their annual refresher training to retain the DEFRA Module 2 certification.
